Perhelatan Grammy Awards 2022 akhirnya rampung dilaksanakan pada Minggu malam (3 April waktu setempat), di MGM Grand Arena in Las Vegas. Malam penghargaan musik paling begengsi ini dibawakan oleh Trevor Noah, dimeriahkan oleh penampilan sederet musisi populer hingga nominator yang mendominasi tahun ini.
Mulai dari Jon Batiste, yang mendominasi 11 nominasi di Grammy 2022, ada pula H.E.R, Lil Nas X, Billie Eilish yang baru saja memenangkan Oscar pertamanya, rising star musim ini, Olivia Rodrigo, dan masih banyak lagi. BTS akhirnya mendominasi panggung dengan full performance untuk hits mereka, ‘Butter’.
Sudah bukan kejutan besar, Olivia Rodrigo dinobatkan sebagai Best New Artist. Tak ketinggalan album debutnya, “Sour” keluar sebagai Best Pop Vocal Album. Jon Batiste, yang mendominasi Grammy 2022 dengan total 11 nominasi, memenangkan Album of the Year dengan “We Are”. Sementara Record of the Year dang Song of the Year dimenangkan oleh Silk Sonic dengan hits mereka, ‘Leave the Door Open’.
Meski masih dalam suasana duka pasca meninggalkan drummer, Taylor Hawkins, Foo Fighters patut merayakan kemenangan mereka dalam kategori nominasi musik rock. Melalui kesuksesan album terbarunya, “Medicine at Midnight” dinobatakan sebagai Best Rock Album.
