People’s Choice Awards 2021 baru saja rampung diselenggarakan di Santa Monica, California pada Selasa malam, 7 Desember waktu setempat. Dibawakan oleh komedian, Kenan Thompson, malam penghargaan ke-47 ini dimeriahkan pula oleh penampilan Christina Aguilera yang dinobatkan sebagai Music Icon pertama dalam People’s Choice Awards. Tak ketinggalan penampilan dari H.E.R dan Blake Shelton sebagai The Country Artist of 2021.
Merupakan penghargaan untuk berbagai industri hiburan dan budaya pop terkini, cukup banyak pemenang yang sudah tidak mengejutkan lagi dalam People’s Choice Awards 2021. “Loki” keluar sebagai The Show of 2021, mengalahkan “WandaVision” yang juga masuk dalam kategori tersebut. Kemudian disusul kemenangan Tom Hiddleston sebagai The Male TV Star of 2021.
Sudah bukan hal yang mengejutkan bahwa Olivia Rodrigo dinobatkan sebagai The New Artist of 2021, begitu juga album debutnya, “Sour” sebagai The Album of 2021. Sementara boyband kesayangan sejuta umat, BTS, membawa pulang 3 penghargaan untuk The Group of 2021, The Song of 2021, dan The Music Video of 2021.
